This is one of the pitfalls of private, proprietary distribution platforms such as Facebook apps and Apple’s App Store: there’s one big, rich, private, legally paranoid, corporate-partner-friendly entity that can pull the plug on any application for any reason (or no reason) at any time, and you have absolutely no recourse as an independent developer.
iPhone developers who intend for this to be a sustainable business have to tiptoe very carefully around anything that might invite legal fears or pressure from anyone.
